Reaching Communities Through a Mobile Animal Clinic in a Van

The mobile animal clinic is an initiative by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), which uses a modified van or multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) as a veterinary clinic to provide free animal healthcare services to communities. The programme was initially introduced to assist animals affected by floods before being expanded to improve public access to veterinary services, particularly in underserved areas. Through this initiative, pet owners can receive basic treatment, health examinations, veterinary consultations, and education on proper animal care. In addition to benefiting the community, the mobile clinic also serves as a practical learning platform for veterinary students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings.
